Discription:
Inspired of course by the city of Hong Kong, a very dynamic city. When I saw it for the first time in 1982 there was a delightful balance between east and west, but this changed over the years. The painting shows the lovely view "The Peak" at the top and the sides, the real Hong Kong made by the people living with many together in small flats in this walled city. At celebrations the dragon comes out.. The uncertainty of the city at that time is expressed by the questionmark in the flag, after the city returned to China. However, I went back after the takeover: it is still a vibrating city.
